The Yerke Family. A family session in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A few years back Eric and I got to talking ... about photography of course.  We both admired each othr's work so we gravitated towards each other.  It turned out we had very similar views on anything photography related ... the industry, film, gear, etc.  Since then, we've become pretty good friends.  We've shot a couple weddings together and hung out a few times but unfortunately we don't live near each other to hang out often enough.  So when he asked me to photograph his family in Iowa, I was immediately on board.

I've noted before how intense it can be photographing close friends and other photographers.  You don't want to let them down and you know they are going to look at the images you give them under a microscope.  But its also extremely rewarding and humbling.  So when Eric asked me I was honored to do it.  I flew out to Cedar Rapids back in June and had the pleasure of getting to know Sophia and Amy ... and Eric more than I already do.  The Yerke's are good people.

If you don't know Eric's work I highly suggest checking it out!  The dude is a beast photographer.
